If long periods of sun exposure are unavoidable and you'd like to help protect your pup from overheating, you'll want this breed-specific cooling coat designed specifically for your German Shorthaired Pointer. As with all Voyagers K9 Apparel gear, this coat is made to move with your active dog while providing superior protection from the elements.

Our cooling coats provide warm climate protection through three unique features: 

  1. The fabric we use provides UV protection of UPF-30.

  2. The light blue color of the fabric reflects more wavelengths and absorbs less heat than the darker color tones of most dogs’ natural coats.

  3. The fabric employs an evaporative cooling technology. Evaporative cooling works when the coat is damp or wet. As it dries, heat is pulled away from your dog’s body.

Why breed specific dog coats? There really is no such thing as "one size fits all" when it comes to dog coats. That's why these breed-specific dog coats are tailored to fit the unique body shape and proportions of a German Shorthaired Pointer.

Evaporative cooling works when the coat is damp or wet. As it dries, heat is pulled away from your dog’s body.

You can wet the coat one of two ways: 

  1. Run it underwater and wring it out before putting it on your pup.

  2. Use a spray bottle filled with water and mist the coat until it is lightly damp.

Voyagers K9 Apparel products are hand-made in the USA with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship and we guarantee our products for their reasonable lifetime. The reasonable lifetime of an outdoor product is not indefinite, and is affected by the conditions in which it is used. Materials will fade, thin, and wear over time, and the reasonable lifespan of an item will be determined at our discretion.

What's not covered:

  • Damage from chewing, snags, tears, or naturally occurring wear.
  • Deterioration (including loss of water-resistant properties) from improper care and washing.
  • Unwashed items will be returned. Please follow cleaning and care instructions prior to sending your item in for repair.
  • Damage to the item from cutting the package open.

To file a warranty claim, contact us by email at production@k9apparel.com. Please include as much information as you are able, including your order number, the item in question, a description of the issue, and any photos that show the problem. If your claim is approved your product will be replaced with the same SKU, which may be a more recent version. If your product has been discontinued, you will receive store credit for the original purchase price. We are unable to provide refunds to the original form of payment.

DHL Parcel Direct service offers transit time of 3-10 business days from date package is received by the carrier. Service is DDP and includes tracking and delivery information provided by DHL. PO boxes are not supported. Remote areas may include a surcharge. DHL pays duty fees and local taxes.

Voyagers K9 Apparel makes, packs and ships our products from our facility in Tacoma, WA. We aim to fulfill and ship your order as quickly as possible. We provide the following shipping and delivery estimates to help you plan your purchase, but we are unable to guarantee delivery dates.

For in-stock items ordered during the business week (Monday-Friday, excluding holidays) you can expect to receive shipping confirmation within 3–5 business days.

Made-to-Measure dog coats and coats that require a harness opening may take from 2 to 10 business days to ship. Promotional events and seasonal sales affect processing times.

For orders $100 or greater, shipping is free using USPS Ground Advantage service. Delivery is estimated between 2-5 business days from date package is received by the carrier. Tracking is provided by USPS. Available to all 50 states, U.S. Military bases, territories, possessions, and Freely Associated States. Limited to 70 pounds. We know the importance of a great fit for your pup, and you should feel confident in your purchase of any of our Voyagers K9 Apparel products. Even if you’ve ordered your coat with a custom harness opening, rest assured that the addition of the harness opening will not be a barrier to initiating a return or exchange.

Customers who purchase our Worry-Free Return & Exchange coverage for $1.98 will receive unlimited complimentary return shipping. This coverage is available for purchase from the “View Cart” screen.

Customers who do not purchase our Worry-Free Return & Exchange coverage will still be able to initiate a return or exchange, but will be responsible for paying for their own return shipping labels via the return/exchange portal.

All return and exchange orders are subject to the following terms:

  1. Returns and exchanges initiated within 14 days of delivery are eligible for a 100% refund of the original purchase price.
  2. Returns and exchanges initiated 15-30 days after delivery are eligible for store credit minus a $6.95 per item restocking fee.
  3. Returns and exchanges initiated more than 30 days after delivery are eligible for our ReCoat program.

We offer returns and exchanges on clean, fur-free, unwashed products. Dogs shed (some more than others!) so we ask that you simply try the coat on your pup and if it doesn’t fit, take it off right away and initiate your return or exchange request.

Items must be received in our shop before credit or refunds will be issued. All refunds and credits are issued at the discretion of Voyagers K9 Apparel. Items with fur, blemishes, damage, or other obvious signs of wear may receive a partial refund or credit.
