Last week, wildfires roared through Napa, Lake, Sonoma, Mendocino, Butte, and Solano counties, and is now recorded as the deadliest week of wildfires in California history. Over 90,000 people have been evacuated and the fires have taken over 5,700 structures reducing them to a pile of ash. During a time like this, we try to help those families who have lost everything. We often forget about the pets though, which are very much a part of people's families.
In times like these, communities come together to support one another and try to help the people and their pets that were affected get back to some sort of normalcy. Our friends at Greyhound Friends for Life were hit hard. In the fire storm, GFFL lost it’s van, office equipment, crates, sales merchandise, and their 2017 Reunion cash proceeds. Also, some of their adopters had to evacuate leaving everything behind, except for what they could take with them.
At Voyagers K9 Apparel, we want to do something for the dogs during this crucial time of need. Fall is here and the evening weather is cold. We are donating dog coats, collars, tummy warmers and collapsable water bowls for the dogs that lost their homes. Our team has been hard at work this week to ensure these get out to them as soon as possible. If nothing else, we hope they feel the love and support from the community.
